Learning phonetically enables learners to:

  1. ‘recognise the sounds that each individual letter makes;
  2. identify the sounds that different combinations of letters make – such as ‘sh’ or ‘oo’ and
  3. blend these sounds together from left to right to make a word.’

You can find a range of free audio stories and poems from the Lit2Go collection. These can be used to help improve your listening skills, alongside the listening resources provided by English Club.
